What the Mud Bucket Provides

  • Beginners get grounding in pottery fundamentals - preparing and centering the clay for throwing, raising shapes, trimming, rolling and building slabs, extrusion techniques, preparing for glazing, and firing.
  • Intermediates develop their craft
  • Group and individual lessons
  • Day and evening classes
  • Personalized instruction including potters wheel, slab and extrusion work, incising, texturing, trimming, decorating, glazing and firing
  • A video and periodical library of pottery techniques and processes
  • A $180 fee includes 18 hours of instruction over six weeks, 25 lbs of clay, glazing materials and two firings
  • Basic tool kits, brushes, specialty ribs, trimming tools, bats and stains are available for purchase at the studio
